Labor Day may mark the unofficial end of summer, but not at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. Whiskey Myers and Tedeschi Trucks Band delivered back-to-back sets that reminded fans why live music remains an irreplaceable ritual.
Big thanks to Whiskey Myers as the BNHP stage was lit withTexas-style grit and rock-and-roll swagger. With Cody Cannon out front, the Texas sextet launched into “Gasoline” as their opener, setting a fire that never dimmed. The lineup — John Jeffers, Cody Tate, Jamey Gleaves, Jeff Hogg, and Tony Kent — left nothing behind with their musicianship and rock and roll style, while three backup singers layered the sound with soulful harmonies that shook the rafters.
The crowd filled steadily as the set roared on, surging in volume with each jam. Every instrument had its moment — guitars traded licks and dual percussionists kept the beat tribal and unrelenting. They closed with “Midnight Woman,” leaving the stage drenched in sweat and applause.

Then came Tedeschi Trucks Band, stretching their wings across a generous 1 hour and 45 minute set. Susan Tedeschi’s honeyed vocals soared on their cover of “Bell Bottom Blues” and later, “Midnight in Harlem,” while Derek Trucks’ slide guitar carved notes that hung in the cool night air.
The band opened with “Crazy Cryin’” and closed with a triumphant “Made Up Mind.” Mid-set, backup singer Mike Mattison stepped front and center during the third song, igniting a sing-along that had fans dancing freely — some “like no one was watching,” others clearly celebrating decades of following the band.
It wasn’t just a performance; it was communion. From “Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?” to the funk-heavy “Spanish Moon,” every song was a chapter in a story the crowd didn’t want to end.

In the aisles, couples danced like it was their first date, while longtime fans belted out lyrics with arms around each other. One concertgoer summed it up on the way out: “Every year we come back for TTB — and every year, they find a way to make it better.”
The pairing of Whiskey Myers’ rowdy, roots-driven set with Tedeschi Trucks Band’s soulful, expansive journey proved a perfect bookend to summer. If the night was a mixtape, it was one you’d play until the tape wore thin.
