A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument containing loose bits of colored material (such as glass or plastic) between two flat plates and two plane mirrors. When the tube is turned, the mirrors reflect the bits of material in an endless variety of symmetrical patterns. The word can also refer to anything that continuously changes in a pattern, like a kaleidoscope of colors or a mixture of many different things, such as a kaleidoscope of sound.
The term sonic pertains to sound or the speed of sound. Derived from the Latin word “sonus” meaning sound, it describes anything related to or using sound waves.
