WSCA joins NACC

WSCA Radio is now a non-paying member of NACC, the North American College and Community Chart. What is NACC?
The North American College and Community Chart tabulates weekly airplay from College and Non-Commercial radio stations in The United States and Canada.
WSCA will begin reporting to NACC weekly beginning the first week of April 2018. What this means is that we receive all the new releases and new music from the majority of music labels and promoters. The genres we receive are Alternative, Indie, Americana, Folk, and Rock. Most our new music is digitally delivered… I’m working on a system and will follow up with another blog post on the way for DJs and show hosts to be able to access the new music that pours in on a weekly basis, so you can play it on your show and check off as New in Spinitron. You’ll also get a weekly email of what’s new and the top 30 will be on our website and available in the WSCA lobby.

By playing new music on your shows, it will help us formulate the weekly most played songs on WSCA, so we can report it to NACC, who in turn shares with the music world and allows us to not only receive more new music and build our station catalog, but it also allows us to get on the national map for artists and retailers, who in turn send their artists our way, which increases WSCA’s presence and status in the world. It can lead to studio performances, Radio IDs, free concert tickets, interviews, and national press coming from Portsmouth Community Radio. It’s incredibly important, but it’s also a way for WSCA Radio to stay cutting edge. Here’s a link to NACC’s Top 200 for this week: https://naccchart.com/charts
