It had been four years since Tom Misch performed in the U.S. and Saturday night he returned with his large band to help kick off the first week at a brand new venue in Boston called, Roadrunner. His set began with the track What Kinda Music from the album he released last year with drummer Yussef Dayes and it has a certain cinematic vibe to it, like it belongs in a Jason Bourne movie. Misch gained notoriety as a beat maker, creating songs by himself from his bedroom studio in London. Now, he’s joinedby a seven-piece band plus himself and is touring the world like a seasoned professional. He closed out the show with two of his more popular tunes, Lost In Paris and South of the River.
Fellow Londoner Joel Culpepper, an R&B artist did the opening duties.
