Stop The Hate

On behalf of WSCA, we send our thoughts to the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

Since the start of the COVID-19 global pandemic, we have seen increasing hate speech and violence including; physical assaults, verbal harassment and services being refused to this community. WSCA remains committed to anti-racism in our efforts around equity, inclusion, and diversity and we condemn these acts. It is unacceptable to see many of these attacks happening to those most vulnerable; the elderly, women and youth. These attacks are cowardly, harmful and unacceptable. We encourage our community to report events if they see, or experience acts of hate and harassment. It is not enough to be concerned, we must also stand for those harmed and report such acts when we witness them.

We encourage everyone to take some time to review resources and educate yourselves, or make donations to those organizations that support AAPI communities during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
WSCA Board of Trustees
