Record Listening Night: Liz Phair, Exile in Guyville

Join us Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30 PM for Record Listening Night. Record Listening Night (RLN) is a new monthly event that invites the community to WSCA Radio to listen to an album in its entirety and then participate in a group discussion.

The MARCH album selection is: Liz Phair, “Exile in Guyville” (Matador, 1993)

She’s just a hero, in a long line of heroes. Liz Phair’s record was the result of a guitar and a girl determined to preserve and release an album on her own terms and with her own sound. Inspired by The Rolling Stone’s “Exile on Main Street,” Phair’s ground-breaking album transcends its origins, with a brutally raw and honest sound that resonates to this day.

Sarah Lachance will curate the next WSCA Radio’s Record Listening Night on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. Come listen and share your thoughts on this influential album.

If you’re looking to meet fellow music fans, or hear music the way it was meant to be heard, then ‘Record Listening Night’ is definitely for you. $5 suggested donation. RSVP on Facebook.
