JJ Slater – November 30th

My music pulls from Americana, soul, and funk, and is filtered through languid, psychedelic grooves. My new record “The Silver Key” was composed in Taos, NM as a song-cycle, and tells the tale of a lonely soul who repeatedly escapes to a motel from his childhood vacations, and his slow retreat from hiding. WIth loping rhythms, twisting, melodic guitar, and storytelling lyrics, its soundscape is one of warped analog warmth.
