“In the mood for some sophisticated, nasty, good-time, low-down funk?”

Cross Roads House is proud to present GRAMMY® Award-Winning Funk, R&B, Soul Artist JON CLEARY & THE ABSOLUTE MONSTER GENTLEMEN on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 7:00PM at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH.

And we’re thrilled to announce that YellowHouse Blues Band will be kicking off the night for us. Their vibes are the perfect way to set the stage for an unforgettable evening.

If you’ve seen Bonnie Raitt live, chances are you saw Jon Cleary at the piano because he was her piano player for over a decade. Cleary’s work pays obvious homage to the
classic Crescent City keyboard repertoire created by such icons as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Art Neville, Dr. John, and James Booker while also
using it as a launching pad for a style that incorporates such other diverse influences as 70s soul and R&B, gospel music, funk, and much more. “Cleary can be an absolute monster on his own, but Cleary’s full combo R&B is as broad, deep and roiling as the Mississippi river…” raves ROLLING STONE. “Jon Cleary is one of the most hellaciously talented purveyors of modern New Orleans inspired funk,” says BONNIE RAITT (11x-GRAMMY® Award-Winner).

The opening act, The YellowHouse Blues Band is a 9-piece, high energy blues/rock band with horns and multiple vocalists, known for putting their own take on
popular songs and making them their own. Coming from the Seacoast of NH and ME, they have performed sold-out shows all over New England and are excited for their debut performance at The Music Hall!

Tickets for Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen can be found on The Music Hall Event Calendar at: https://www.themusichall.org/calendar
