A Plan for Zero Waste

In 2009, UNH Freshman Alex Fried had an idea that turned into a PLAN: Turn the tons of trash he saw UNH producing every semester into treasures. He started by taking pictures of the mountains of waste. By the time he graduated in 2013, the "Trash 2 Treasure" program he co-founded was in its 3rd year, and had recovered more than 100 tons of materials for re-use.
